Over the past 20 years, I have been a college admissions advisor, test-prep teacher, private tutor, and personal statement expert. While studying US History at UC Berkeley, I began working with a college counseling company that helped me to learn the ins and outs of the college application process. I continued counseling students on college applications in the Bay Area and then remotely while attending graduate school and in the years that followed.

 

Upon finishing my masters degree, I moved to Los Angeles and began privately tutoring students in AP US History, AP English Language, and AP English Literature, plus their corresponding SAT II Subject Tests. I also began teaching SAT prep classes and wrote practice curricula for the newly designed SAT. In my 20 years as an independent college counselor, I have helped students prepare applications and write personal statements that have gotten them into the Ivy League, the UC system, Top 20/30 Schools, Big-10 schools, public and private universities, and graduate and doctorate/doctoral programs. I have also helped students compose essays that have helped them land coveted internships and spots in competitive summer programs. I specialize in non-traditional students, arts students, high-aiming STEM and business applicants, transfer students, and graduate/doctoral candidates.

 

My goal has been to help students navigate the admissions process with the least stress, while helping them to present themselves in the best and most authentic light.
